Shadows on the Horizon
The country of Sjornland, a small nation in the south of what was once Norway, has always been little more than a curiousity to the international community. A predominantly elven nation, with around 5% human, and less than 1% other races, there has been a history of racial tension in the region, particularly against Trolls. While the government in no way sanctioned the racist outbursts that frequented the streets, help for the Troll community was not particularly prevalent among their priorities. However, in 2070, a remarkably sudden shift occured, as an outspoken and charismatic Scandanavian troll named Oistein Bjorno rallied the orc and troll communities in the capital of Kristiansand.
In the middle of the night, on Sept.23, 2070, black clad figures infiltrated the presidential mansion, executing one phase of a massive coup that restructured the government in a single night. The presidential family was executed, with the exception of the eldest son, Kristiansand. Alexander wisely fled the city, with government agents hot on his heels. For a time, Alexander fought alongside a rebel group, opposing Oistein and his usurpers for several months, before an intelligence leak lead to the exposing and destruction of the rebel group. Alexander was gravely wounded, and with the help of Hoye Evenrud, fled to Seattle in the UCAS, where Hoye had just accepted a position as ambassador to the UCAS., who had chosen that night to go on a sudden binge at a club in downtown
